Wafá Jamil is a Swedish Palestinian born & raised in occupied Gaza. She has been in film production for over 15 years. She focuses on different themes in her films including human rights issues and politics of identity. Her latest documentary film, Coffee for All Nations, was well received by audiences and film critics, winning several international prizes & is being translated into 6 languages. She also produced the My Life is a Film project in cooperation with Stockholm municipality. She has worked as a film director/producer for many local and international media production companies, including Wattan TV, Qatar TV, Kuwait TV, NHK, and CH4 – UK. She has participated in many film festivals including Nordisk Panorama Film Festival, IDFA International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam, Aljazeera Balkans Documentary Film Festival, MEDIMED DOC Market.
Oraib Aloul: Chairperson
Oraib Aloul Qamhaw is a University Lecturer, in her studies and research she has been interested in Arabic with a didactic focus, language didactics, Socio-cultural factors that influence the development of multilingualism, Swedish as a second language, school-related language development and the integration process and cultural meetings.
Najat Dajani: Film and Media Consultant
Najat has two chosen specializations: film studies and translation & linguistics, and the bulk of her professional life has been spent in teaching and education. She has extensive experience in media and communications, especially radio and television and has translated for a number of organizations. Her jobs have included teaching (Film studies and English language), working in development, production, narrating & voice-overs, researching, writing, translating and editing as well as other related administrative work. She has also worked in film funding at Telefilm Canada and was a previewer for the Vancouver International Film Festival. Born and raised in Kuwait, Najat has also lived, studied and worked in Switzerland, Jordan, the UK and Canada. She now resides in Sweden. When she is not traveling or planning and researching her next trip Najat, is usually catching up with family and friends, as well as on reading and viewing material.
Talat Bhat: Art Director
Swedish Kashmiri activist, documentary filmmaker, Journalist and trade union campaigner based in Lund. He has a Master’s degree in Media Production and researching on the use & impacts of new media technologies in conflict zones. He is Board Secretary at Film Centrum Riks www.filmcentrum.se and vice President in Film Centrum Syd and also the project leader of Nordic Labour Film Festival in Malmö www.nlff.se.
